Fiber Arts Friday: Full Circle

A little over a week ago I received a wonderful package in the mail....

In 2013 I spun some yarn as part of a Pay it Forward project for Vivian over at Bits and Pieces.

It made my day to receive this in the mail... what Vivian did with this yarn is exactly the sort of thing that I had in mind when I bought the roving at the very first fiber show I ever attended.

Happy Fiber Arts Friday!  Yes, I know it's Saturday.  It's better than Monday though.  Right?

Fiber Arts Friday: Palindrome Scarf, part 6

Yes, I know it's not Friday... and yes, I have been out of FAF for a long time, but if I don't post today, it won't happen.  ;-)

***

Last time (mid-August) I had finished 39 of 50 grams from the first burgundy ball.

I have just finished with Burgundy Ball #1 this morning which yielded 18 inches.

My Palindrome Scarf is now 49 inches total.  It reaches a nice length when just hanging over my neck, but will need to be longer to make at least one wrap around my neck.  So I think I need to use at least one more ball of burgundy yarn, possibly part of another, then finish out with the 15 grams of black.

I find it interesting (annoying?) that this project was intended to use up left-over yarn, then I felt I needed to buy 4 more balls, it took me a bit to find any available in the US... and now I'm going to have a couple of balls left over.... and at my current rate, this is going to be a two-year project. At least my distractions are worth it.  ;-)

Be certain to check in with everyone else over at Fiber Arts Friday.

First Visitors

The puppies had their first visitors over the weekend.

It was really fun to see how they reacted to new people.  Some were much more outgoing and others more reserved than I expected.

However, they all enjoyed their visitors and slept very well after all of the excitement.

Several of them took the opportunity to nap in laps.

Or in the case of Miss Green, she napped sitting up... sorta.  ;-)

Gunnar came out and spent some time with the puppies and guests as well.

Noodle was feeling very protective of her babies so she got some alone time with a bone.  ;-)

They will be five weeks old on Tuesday.

Happy New Year!

The puppies all have their eyes open and are walking pretty well.  As a result they are playing with each other and I notice them watching me and Hubba.

We gave them their first semi-solid food today.  It was an instant hit.

After their lunch, I found Miss Black Collar enjoying a funny napping position on top of the puppy pile.

I hope you're having a wonderful new year so far.  :-)
