Fiber Arts Friday: Wingspan, part 7

The Forever Wingspan continues... but this time I am into the official last wedge.  WooHoo!!

I was hoping to be able to complete the entire project with just one cake of yarn, but it looks like I will have to break into cake #2 pretty soon... that's what's left of ball #1 near the top of the photo.  ;-)

Happy Fiber Arts Friday.

This pattern is on my short list. Good luck finishing!

I have this on my list, but have been looking for a striped yarn to use. Your version is making me rethink that idea. A semi solid is just as pretty in the pattern. Love the color.

Maybe the leftover from the 2nd cake can be a matching hat.

So sorry about your Christmas tree :-(

In the homestretch - it's looking good.

And I'm with Vivian - sorry to hear about the tree. Try to get some fresh greenery (in any form) that you can put around the house to still get that great smell but without the fire hazard. I'm a big fan of cut greens and baby's breath in a clear glass vase.

I don't recall seeing the wingspan project before ... have you just started it? I love the color ... brown and green always makes me think of forests!

I elected to omit the last wedge as I was running out of yarn...I'll be frogging that thing and re-knitting in a different yarn with more yardage. It needs to have as many wedges as the pattern calls for or it's too small for practical use, imo. Happy Fiber Arts Friday! Hope you're keeping warm out there on that mountain.

Pretty! And I third the sadness over the tree. Maybe splurge on a couple of wreaths? We've gone artificial for many a year (not this year, because we were too lazy to haul it across the country) and it is mighty convenient. But I'm also enjoying the smell of the real one, so it's a tough choice!

Thanks everyone :-)

@ChrisKnits - I agree this pattern looks great with long color changes.

Thanks everyone for the wreath suggestions.

I'm laughing at you @SpinterBeth. ;-)

@Vivian - ahhh, a hat. I was toying with using this yarn in another project, but a hat is a good idea.

Almost done! Post a picture of you wearing it when you have finished.

Lovely colour of your Wingspan! Are you keeping this for yourself or giving this as a gift? If the latter then the recipient is a very lucky person.

I think it's time to admit that I've been following your progress on this and I still have no idea what a wingspan actually is! I'm really looking forward to you finishing it and modelling it in a pic to enlighten me! ;)

Love it! Hooray for getting almost to the end. I always feel accomplishment when I dig in to the next cake of yarn. I don't know why but I do.

Oh it looks lovely!! I hate breaking into a new cake near the end of a project, but sometimes, you just have no choice!
