Fiber Arts Friday: Dropping Stitches

My intent was to wait to start another project until I had finished both of my Challah Socks but I keep dropping stitches while working on the gusset increases at knit night.  :-/

9 stitches on the left

and 8 stitches on the right
as well as a wonky correction a few rows back

The first time I thought maybe I had just lost track of whether I was on an increase round or not and figured I had made one increase, but not the other.  But the last time?  I absolutely remember when it happened.  :-/

So I reviewed my work with my comadres and decided it's better to have something very simple to work on at Knit Night... at least until I get past the gusset increases.

Regarding the Challah?  No worries.  I have Life Lines this time!

Happy Fiber Arts Friday.

I have only just recently read about life lines and haven't tried doing it yet. They will be in my next project for sure. Your socks are looking great1 So cozy looking.

So what project did you choose for knit night?

I try to do garter stitch or stockinette items when I go to knitting meetings. I can knit without looking, but apparently that's the extend of what my brains can handle.

Maybe a Wingspan in the future?

Oh yea, a Wingspan is a good idea.

I get too confused and easily distracted to knit and chat!

I love that gray color.

My sympathy goes out to you - this happens to me all the time when i try to knit anything complicated at Knit Nights. Hang in there; one day they will be done!

I am also learning the hard way to take simple projects when I know I'll be socializing. It's a hard lesson to learn

hi, Kathryn, did you see that I dropped you? It was just temporary. I'm here as you newest follower -- because I had a faulty link that wasn't going back to my blog. But it is fixed and up and back so don't leave...ok?

I've been seeing info about life lines around blogland just recently. I've never used one, but it is such a good idea! I have a serious lack of concentration, even when I'm trying, so I completely understand having a simple knit for Knit Night.

I have tried making complicated things at knit night and discovered it just does not work. I have a pair of socks that I keep just for taking with me, they are k3 p1 rib, nice and simple
