Quite a long time ago, I was trying to make a hat (Ravelry link) for Hubba that was (a) not too hot, (b) washable and (c) an orangy-red color.
I ended up with a cotton London Beanie. He liked the hat in spite of some some issues it has.
Then I made one for our friend's young son and Hubba decided he loved his hat.
The young son, decided they would have a private orange hat club, so his dad needed one too.
I didn't have enough of the orange yarn left over and was unable to find more at my local yarn shops, so I went to Ravelry, found some there and knit a third Orange Cotton Hat.
I hope they stay true to their word... that this is a closed club. :-)
This is, of course, my weekly installment for Fiber Arts Friday. Please head over to Wisdom Begins in Wonder to see what everyone else has been up to.
Cute, the hats look good, perfect for the season!
ReplyDeleteAw. That is precious. It makes me want to join, but it seems to be a boys-only club! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat knitting!
Fun hats! Nice to see your knitting is a family affair!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute club! The hats are great too. Love it.
ReplyDeleteAww, so sweet! I wish MY husband would wear a hat so I could knit for him!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Those are some handsome looking guys in their orange hats!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I love the idea of an orange hat club :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody.
ReplyDeleteI love that these boys are so excited about their hats. It certainly makes them more fun to make. :-)
@jessecreations - until last year, my husband only wore baseball caps. I really wanted to make him a hat, but he didn't want one. So I made hats for others. Finally he asked for one and now he has two. We moved to a cooler climate about the same time, so he actually wears both of them quite a bit.
An orange hat is perfect for this time of year where The Saint and I live. Maybe I should whip one up when I can knit again. Thanks for the idea Kathryn.
ReplyDeleteGrumpy wanted me to knit him a hat, then felt a hat now doesn't want a hat. Argh! I shall make the stinker a hat and I love that orange. Fortunately, I have dyed some Alpaca a very similar shade and you know that the Bears in my house have to wear Alpaca.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome to make the Orange hat club for these guys.
Oh, they are WAY too cute!
