A lot softer than I expected it to be. Nothing like baby camel, but still a very nice yarn.

@WWG - I'm not convinced it won't go into the planned weaving... for now the yarn is in that box. I have a lot of yarn still to make, so I have plenty of time to think about it. :-)Kathryn Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990925295124938262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8193450499711699622.post-26655266676230417822012-01-20T16:49:06.556-07:002012-01-20T16:49:06.556-07:00That yarn is beautiful and will weave up better th...That yarn is beautiful and will weave up better than you think. I have had a lot of fun with my singles like that in both my warp and weft.

You have conquered more camelid spinning than I have. hmmm, maybe I should get that paca vicuna to try.WonderWhyGalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14427923229119655073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8193450499711699622.post-9991026994107976552012-01-20T16:28:01.070-07:002012-01-20T16:28:01.070-07:00Hey! I would have thought that the singles would be more white looking at the batt. Is it super soft? I have some baby camel fiber around here somewhere I should dig out and give a spin. Thanks for the nudge. It took a little getting used to the longer staple length, but otherwise it's pretty straight forward. Definitely easier than cotton or camel.

@Vivian and Melissa - I intended the yarn for a weaving, but I agree, I think it would be better in a knitted project.

@Cara - definitely agree.Kathryn Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12990925295124938262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8193450499711699622.post-89051089086408757172012-01-20T12:04:28.199-07:002012-01-20T12:04:28.199-07:00I love the color variations, those kind are the mo...I love the color variations, those kind are the most fun to spin.

Caraoak haven alpacashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02603968424369860667noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8193450499711699622.post-73170872831403603042012-01-20T11:33:21.484-07:002012-01-20T11:33:21.484-07:00I like those curlie-q's when they happen in my...I like those curlie-q's when they happen in my knitting, add special character.

Spinners get to play with so many different fibers, I'm jealous ;-)Vivianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04391126553849547771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8193450499711699622.post-23408044484598167012012-01-20T10:26:38.765-07:002012-01-20T10:26:38.765-07:00You have some beautiful hand spun there, it will m...You have some beautiful hand spun there, it will make a lovely project! I have some in my stash, but haven't felt up to the task. I have some lovely camel/silk that I'm itching to try. You are probably right about the spots of overtwisting. It is really easy to do that when removing VM on the fly.Kristi aka Fiber Foolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12845705004295176738noreply@blogger.com
